---Leon's Story by Leon Walter Tillage. Be ready: once you read Leon's story, you'll
be moved. You won't be able to keep from talking about it. This short memoir is a
vivid collection of anecdotes through the eyes of Leon, the second son of a large
sharecropping family in the segregated South. Even though he is living through
horrifying injustices that could deeply embitter, Leon speaks with an unruffled calm
and dignity. Publisher's Weekly says his story "does more in its gentle way to
expose the horrors of racism than most works of fiction ever could." Leon went on
to work for thirty years as custodian for the Park School in Baltimore, Maryland.
